Taylor Swift Coming To Columbia
Taylor Swift will be performing in Columbia, South Carolina as part of her “Fearless” tour. The show is scheduled for April 30, 2010 at Colonial Life Arena and will also feature Kellie Pickler and Gloriana. Tickets go on sale at 10:00 a.m. on December 4, 2009. At this year’s Country Music Awards (CMA) Swift won the entertainer of the year award and is the youngest person ever to do so. Swift turns 20 on December 13 and has already solidified herself as the queen of country pop. The entertainer of the year award was just “icing on the cake.”
Some have questioned whether Swift’s style is really even country at all, but today’s country music is much different from country music of 20 years ago. Many argue that country without the pop just doesn’t have a wide appeal. In any case, Swift seems to be doing all the right things as her popularity is at an all time high.
Swift is close friends with Kellie Pickler and co-wrote Pickler’s second single “Best Days of Your Life”.
In addition to her music career, Swift is also heavily involved in philanthropy and has worked to protect children from online predators, donated to the Red Cross, and performed at many charity events both in the U.S. and abroad.
